Rough justice: Boyband favourites Rough Copy are kicked off X Factor in visa row
![]() |
Rough Copy |
The X Factor has
got us feeling all discombobulated this morning, following the apparent replacement
of Rough Copy with another TWO bands at Judges’ Houses.
After the Boot
Camp episode, we were all under the impression that Rough Copy, MK1, GMD3,
Mitsotu, Poisonous Twins and Duke had got through to Judges’ Houses.
However, at some
point between the two stages, it was discovered that one of the members of
Rough Copy “has a visa application currently being considered by the UK Border
Agency” and could therefore not leave the country. While they could – but they
wouldn’t be allowed back in.
A source told
the Mirror at the time: “It’s a total disaster. The band’s progress into the
finals was almost a formality and producers were excited about them. But they
found out about the visa situation just as they were organising flights.
“They have no
option but to axe them from the competition and replace them with another band
which has proved a massive headache.”

Therefore Triple
J – who are now called Union J after adopting a fourth member, soloist George
Shelley (who didn’t get through Boot Camp) – and Times Red flew over to Las
Vegas to perform in front of Louis Walsh. If you’re wondering why Rough Copy
were replaced by two bands rather than one, it’s because there simply wasn’t
time to narrow it down.
Louis Walsh
said: “When Rough Copy left, I found it
difficult to choose between two groups to fill their place. In the end I
invited boyband Triple J to come to Judges Houses, but still felt that as I’d
lost such a strong group in Rough Copy that I wanted to make sure the category
was the best it could possibly be.
“I asked Gary,
Nicole and Tulisa if they minded if I took a seventh act. They were happy as
they felt they’d got the right six acts for their Judges Houses trips so I
asked Times Red to come along and they said yes.”
“We are all
totally gutted by this as the longer we were in the competition the more we
felt we had an opportunity to showcase that “sweet but street” urban flava to
the whole world that we do right here in London.” – Source

Kate Middleton Lookalike (Heidi Agan) earns £650 a day after quitting £6 an hour Burger King job. (Photos)
Heidi
Agan has joined London-based agency Susan Scott Lookalikes in February and has
stocked up on some of the Duchess’s most memorable dresses, including the blue
Issa dress she wore as she and Prince William announced their engagement, as
well as her favorite shoes and accessories.
However
Heidi says she won’t be following her lead by being caught topless.
‘I felt
really bad for Kate when the photos were published as she was on a private trip
with her husband,’ says Heidi.
‘If
someone had done that to me I would go to the police. She and William don’t get
any time out and they were just trying to be a normal couple. It’s a terrible
invasion of their privacy.

Gaga shave |
Lady Gaga is daring to bare -- the back of her head, at least.
On her
website Tuesday, the pop star, 26, shared a photo of an especially
daring new hairdo, after she shaved off most of the hair on the back of her
head.
The "Edge
of Glory" singer's strange new look, as she wrote, was meant as a tribute
to her friend Terry Richardson's late mom, who passed away
Tuesday at the age of 74.

Princess Kate and Princess Diana in style comparison
Looking through iconic photos of Princess Diana on the anniversary of her death on August 31, 1997 reminds us, once again, of how lovable she was. How photogenic, how stylish, how fully alive and still real she seemed in the firestorm of publicity that surrounded her. Her successor, Kate Middleton, now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is enormously popular as well, and seems to have achieved some of her departed and dearly missed mother-in-law's grace, adding to it her own tough, polished aplomb. If Diana was a romantic princess, Kate is a professional princess. And if Kate struggles with her weight or her inlaws, none of us expect to hear about it the way we did with Di (and Kate's husband, and his father, and his father's mother are probably thankful for that). Kate Middleton and Princess Diana have both also achieved status as style icons, in very different ways. Their signature looks for some of the same occasions and milestones tell us worlds about both their personalities, the style of their respective decades and the changing faces of womanhood.--Valerie Isakova
